- Berni Stapleton's hit play BRAZIL SQUARE returns for a three-week run at the newly renovated Majestic Theatre in the heart of downtown St. John’s this summer. The story of Brazil Square landlady Mrs. Kent, and the comings and goings of her many guests at this St. John's institution over four decades, is both hilarious and heart-warming. Most Newfoundlanders fondly recall the important role that the Brazil Square boarding houses played in lives of all those who had to "come to town" during the last century. With live music from the 1950's to the 1980's and a cast of our province's finest performers, BRAZIL SQUARE hits a note with theatre lovers everywhere.
